Location:
Masons Island is
located in the
mouth of the Mystic River in
Mystic, Connecticut in the Town of Stonington. The
Island is ten minutes from Interstate 95.
Sales areas:
There are two areas on the
Island: southern and northern. To view a map with available properties please click on

The southern area is a gated community
with private roads, open spaces, beaches and
docks. Property values are maintained by
deed restrictions
on any land purchased from the Masons Island Company. There is also an
Architectural Review Committee.
Property for sale is on Allyn's Alley,

Chippechaug Trail,
Cormorant Road, Egret Road, Great
Marsh Road, Heron Road,
and School House Road.
The northern
area has public roads, open spaces and
docks.
Property values are maintained by deed
restrictions on any land purchased from the Masons Island Company.

Mason's Island Yacht Club:
Any property owner in the southern area, including
Cormorant Road and Egret
Road, may be proposed for
membership in the Mason's Island Yacht Club although there is no guarantee of admission. The Yacht Club
provides facilities and instruction for sailing and small boat racing, swimming,
tennis and bocce. These is also an extensive social program and several
regattas. The Yacht Club operates independently of the Masons Island Company.
Boating:
Masons Island is located on
Fishers Island Sound within some of the finest sailing, boating,
kayaking and fishing along the New England coast. Permits for anchorages around
the Island are available for a $10 registration fee per year through a local Harbormaster.

Nature:
There is a
47 acre
nature preserve on the Island which was
developed in cooperation with The Nature Conservancy with trails through woods and along salt marshes.
There are also 9 acres of open space throughout the island. The
Ice Pond is a stopping point for white egrets on
their seasonal migrations. As many as 75 have been counted settled in the trees
on the evening.
Local Government:
Masons Island,
the largest island in Connecticut, is
considered to be on the East side of the Mystic river which is in the
Township of Stonington. A great deal of information about the area is available

Utilities and Services:
In the southern area the Masons Island Fire District contracts with the Mystic
Fire Department for
services. Water is provided by the
Connecticut Water Company.
The northern area is within the boundaries
of the Quaimbaug Fire District. Water is provided by the
Aquarion Water Company.
